The UK’s primary hub for research and development of future low-emission aero gas turbine combustion technologies
This global open-access centre of excellence provides the UK with access to state-of-the-art facilities and skilled researchers to help address the key aerothermal technological challenges to support the UK’s aerospace sector.
NCCAT is also actively involved with supporting the development of technology within several other key national sectors such as distributed power generation and the development of measurement technology for harsh environments.
Industrial problem-owners, from SMEs to multi-nationals, can visit and work collaboratively with world-class academic researchers, offering a truly unique environment in which to support commercial research.
Amongst a small number of world-wide research facilities, NCCAT is designed to span both low-mid-TRL combustion research for the rapid development and maturation of technology.
NCCAT is funded through a partnership comprising the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, the Aerospace Technology Institute and Innovate UK, with support from Rolls-Royce plc and Loughborough University.
